Dear Scouts, Scouters, Friends of Scouting and Scouting Families,
The Holiday season is a special time of year to reflect on the many blessings that we have in our lives. At this time I like to reflect on how my life has been richly blessed by those closest to me; my beautiful wife, my wonderful children, and all of the members of my precious family. Beyond that, I am deeply grateful for the work that God has called me to do for Scouting. One of the greatest benefits of my life’s work is the contact that I have with so many wonderful people. I have formed lifelong friendships and learned so much. I have been richly blessed.
Scouting has always been my “extended family”. Whether it were the boys and leaders in my troop, lodge brothers at an OA weekend, board members at a retreat, or my staff planning for a busy week, I have always felt as though I was surrounded by family. During this Holiday Season, please reflect on the value and importance of family, and making those around you, feel like family.
I am deeply grateful for all that you do support our mission. All of us involved in Scouting have been called to be great examples and live according to high standards and principles. The youth we are serving will emulate our example as they become the leaders of tomorrow. All of the good work that you do for Scouting, is part of a special legacy that will stand the test of time.
I pray that each of you is richly blessed during this holiday season, and beyond.
