2009 Summer Camping
Season Status
Dear Friends,
It is my pleasure to inform you that Camp Seph Mack will not be impacted by a State Park Closure this summer for a number of reasons, which I will not take the liberty of listing in this message. I will tell you however, that our initiatives to assist our local elected leaders with the crafting of legislation, to insulate Camp Seph Mack and Yellow Creek State Park from Park closures from this point forward, has been well received. I will keep you informed as we make progress toward this landmark initiative.
Thank you so much for your support of Scouting. Your grassroots effort to contact your PA Senator, Legislator and DCNR officials ensured that our local elected leaders took notice, and were shown that a State park closure would have a profoundly negative impact on thousands of families.
I am looking forward to an outstanding summer camping season at Camp Seph Mack! See you there!

Training
"This is Scouting" was added to the BSA's on-line Learning Center over the weekend. "This is Scouting" replaces New Leader Essentials as a required course for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing volunteers to earn the "Trained" leader emblem. Councils should eliminate New Leader Essentials from all training calendars and add a link to http://MyScouting.org. Read more...
